Looking for things to do in Donegal for families, groups or couples? Here is all you need to know for your visit to Oakfield Park.
Oakfield Park in Raphoe, Co. Donegal, is a privately owned estate and railway, which has won several National awards for the restoration of its gardens and buildings. Sitting in a lush landscape of parklands, lakes, mature woodlands, overlooking the distant Croaghan Mountain, the grounds include a hedge maze, sculptures, and miles of walking paths. A must visit attraction when seeking things to do in Donegal.
June, July & August: Seven Days A Week

We will also be open late for special events so keep an eye out if seeking things to do in Donegal for families, couples and groups!
You can purchase an Oakfield Park Voucher any time of the year, which can be used for entry, events, Seasonal Passes, Buffers food and drink or anything else on offer here in the gardens.
BUFFERS Restaurant is open every day that the park is open plus for select evening events and private hire. Trains will be running regularly each and every day that we are open.
Last admittance and last orders in Buffers strictly at 5.30pm.

Car parking is available within the grounds of Oakfield Park. Special spaces are available for minibuses and coaches.
Toilet facilities with Baby Changing unit are provided.
Picnic Tables and Swings are available.
There is partial access for wheelchairs. We have a train carriage suitable for wheelchairs. The main roadways and many of the paths through gardens are accessible by wheelchair.
Dogs on a lead are permitted but please lift droppings from paths and lawns.
As per the Control of Dogs Regulations 1998, extra duties are placed on the owners of the following breeds (or a cross of any of these):
• American Pit Bull Terrier
• Bull Mastiff
• Doberman Pinscher
• English Bull Terrier
• German Shepherd (Alsatian)
• Japanese Akita
• Japanese Tosa
• Rhodesian Ridgeback
• Rottweiler
• Staffordshire Bull Terrier
We prefer that these dogs do not appear in Oakfield Park given the number of children in the grounds, but if they must, it is ESSENTIAL that:
Group Visits and tours are available by prior arrangement for 20+ people.

From communions, confirmations and christenings, Oakfield Park is the ideal location to spend your special day. It’s also a great place to capture those special moments with a backdrop of lush green landscape. We have a fully licensed bar and restaurant and can tailor packages to suit your individual group.
Cycling, Ball Games, BBQ’s and flying Drones is not permitted in the gardens.
Whilst every effort is taken to ensure the safety of our visitors, parents and guardians must ensure that children are supervised at all times when in Oakfield Park – we cannot take responsibility for this.
Trains don’t stop quickly, there are many rough walkways and deep water in many locations around the grounds.
If you visit more than a couple of times a year, this is the best pass you can get. Visit as many times as you like.
